You Were Meant For Me

By James Whalen

A:
Late in the morning, or late in the day,
You walk on towards me with not much to say.
You put your hand in my hand, and it’s plain to see,
The good Lord put you down here, cause you were meant for me.
Yes, you were meant for me.

B:
There’s music on the radio, your soft eyes gaze at mine.
Your perfume taunts my senses, your sweet love’s on my mind.
And it don’t take a wise man, or a blind man to see,
The good Lord put you down here, cause you were meant for me.
Yes, you were meant for me.

A:
The evening moves to night time, a cool wind chills the air.
It doesn’t take the daylight, to see it’s safe and warm right here.
So I lay my head down to rest, just one thing on my mind,
To thank the man up above you’re of the loving kind.

C:
And it doesn’t take a wise man, or a blind man to see,
The good Lord put you down here, cause you were meant for me
Yes, the good Lord put you down here to spend your time with me,
To share your life with me, cause you were meant for me.
You were meant for me.
