Love Is A Simple Thing

By Dana Paul Robinson

Love is a simple thing, teaching a bird to sing, planting a flower,
Catching a comet, as easy as making clouds.
Love happens natur'ly not scientifically.

You don't need a Fulbright to know when it's all right.
It isn't a matter of degree.
Too much analysis leads to paralysis.
You'll know it happens when it happens your way.

There's no creation in cold calculation.
Love doesn't happen that way.
Love can't be budgeted planned for or diagrammed,
Where is the heart swell.
Where is the Pell Mell. Where is the "I need you?"

Love is that word of care saying that someone's there.
Love is a mystery and a madness.
There is no what for, no where for, or why for.
Love doesn't happen that way.

Love is a simple thing. Teaching a bird to sing, planting a flower.
Catching a comet as easy as making clouds.
Love is a simple thing. Teaching a bird to sing.
Just let it happen. Just let it happen. Just let it happen to you.
