Duty’s Call
© 2008 Frank Tocha
Refrain:
While I never served our country, I’m amazed by the ones who do.
I can’t believe the courage displayed, defending our red, white and blue.
I place my hand upon my heart, while the National Anthem is played.
I feel deep emotions stir inside for those who defend the home of the brave.
Verse 1:
Our fathers and our mothers served in past wars.
They fought to protect their families with courage rarely seen before.
They served with the hope of finding peace, so their kids could stay safe at home.
They answered, yes they answered duty’s call.
Verse 2:
Today our sons and daughters answer again as duty calls.
They fight to preserve our way of life as the ones who fought before.
They display the true grit and valor needed to keep terror far from our shores.
They answered, yes they answered duty’s call.
Verse 3:
So, place your hand upon your heart while the Anthem is played.
Stand and remove your hats as the flag passes on parade.
Say the Pledge with pride to honor those who gave their all.
They answered, yes they answered duty’s call..
