Chamomile Tea

By Dana Paul Robinson

When I'm in the mood for something that will soothe or stimulate.
It's you that I depend on, the brew that I can count on to be simply great.
I'm not a Keats of Shelley whose praise such prowess showed.
Still I'd like to offer to you this humble ode.

Chamomile tea, you're what does it for me. I drink you all the time.
I'd lose my grip if I couldn't sip your pure ambrosia so fine.
Coke's okay, so is Beaujolais mint juleps I wouldn't decline.
I agree there're thrills in two of three Bush mills,
but nothing can quench like you, oh tea of mine!

Chamomile tea, you're the tea that I'll keep.
I'll serve you cold or hot.
You guarantee every time that you steep potable bliss in each pot.
Ginger beer I might quaff once a year and Pimms my pals prescribe.
I enjoy the power of a Pisco Sour but it isn't as it is when you I imbibe!

Chamomile tea, you elixir of the gods.
You are divinely mixed.
Cause as for me when my world is at odds. I come to you to get fixed.
Preor post, you're the prandial for me.
The potion the nectar ideal.
Pernot won't suffice nor would ouzo on ice.
They're no substitute for the way you make me feel!
Chamomile tea, my felicity. You're the only tea for me.
